Biomarkers of angiogenesis as prognostic factors in myelodysplastic syndrome patients treated with hypomethylating agents.

•The role of angiogenesis in MDS has not been clearly revealed.•Microvessel density (MVD) of RCUD was significantly lower than in other MDS types.•MVD was closely associated with the responsiveness to hypomethylating agents in MDS.•Angiogenesis related markers might be potentially prognostic factors for MDS.
