Counter-current chromatography with off-line detection by ultra high performance liquid chromatography/high resolution mass spectrometry in the study of the phenolic profile of Lippia origanoides.

•The ethanol extract of L. origanoides was analyzed by HPLC-UV-HRMSn and seven major compounds were identified.•HSCCC was used as a preparative tool for the pre-fractionation of the ethanol extract of L. origanoides.•By using a generic solvent system an enriched flavonoid fraction was obtained.•Zic-HILIC, monolithic and particulate RP18 were studied for HPLC-UV-HRMSn analyses of flavonoids.•By this approach, twelve compounds were further identified in addition to the seven major ones.
