Feasibility of Left Ventricular Global Longitudinal Strain Measurements from Contrast-Enhanced Echocardiographic Images.

•We tested the feasibility and accuracy of STE when applied to contrast-enhanced images.•We studied two groups of patients: (1) with images suitable for STE analysis without contrast, and (2) with poor-quality images, for whom cardiac MRI was used as a reference.•Left ventricular GLS was measured from contrast-enhanced and non-enhanced images using STE and from MRI using feature tracking.•Feasibility of STE analysis was 94% and good intertechnique agreement was noted in both subgroups.•GLS measurements from contrast-enhanced images are feasible and accurate even in patients with poor image quality that precludes STE analysis without contrast.
