Physician visits and the timing of skeletal-related events among men newly diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer: A cohort analysis

•Men diagnosed with late-stage prostate cancer are at risk for skeletal complications.•There is limited detail regarding the role of urologists or medical oncologists.•Twenty percent of patients did not visit a urologist (U) or medical oncologist (MO).•Forty percent of patients experienced a skeletal-related event (SRE).•Patients experienced a longer time to SRE when U or MO were involved in care.
