Exposure to ambient fine particulate matter during pregnancy and gestational weight gain.

•No studies have been conducted to examine the association between exposure to PM2.5 and gestational weight gain.•Our study demonstrated that exposure to PM2.5 during pregnancy was associated with increased trimester GWGs.•Pregnant women who delivered in spring or summer gained more body weight associated with PM2.5 exposures.
