Place and community inclusion: Locational patterns of supportive housing for people with intellectual disability and people with psychiatric disorders.

•We examinedhousing locations of people with intellectual disability (ID) and people with psychiatric disorders (PD).•People with ID were geographically more dispersed than people with PD.•People with PD were concentrated in disadvantaged, residentially unstable and racially/ethnically diverse neighborhoods.•Differences between the two populations were more distinct in the urban than the suburban county.•The study provides a spatial-analytic method for assessing community inclusion with regard to integrated housing.
