A simple dispersive solid phase extraction clean-up/concentration method for selective and sensitive quantification of biogenic amines in wines using benzoyl chloride derivatisation

•A dispersive SPE method for analysis of biogenic amines in wines was developed.•dSPE method allowed a simple, quick, cheap, green and efficient sample clean-up.•dSPE increased selectivity and sensitivity of BAs analysis by UV detection.•Accurate and precise BA analysis in red, white and Port wines were obtained.•dSEP can be applied to other foods, detectors and derivatisation procedures.
