Imaging Validation of Drug-Eluting Beads Transarterial Chemoembolization of Hepatocellular Carcinomas in Living Donor Liver Transplantation.

•Neither CT nor MRI could well demonstrate microscopic residual tumors after DEB-TACE.•The accuracy rate between the imaging and pathology correlation is 40% for CT and 42% for MRI.•Pathologic tumor necrosis is one of the most reliable recurrent predicting factors.•Waiting time from DEB-TACE to LDLT may be another factor affecting post-LDLT recurrence.•Microscopic residual tumors did not affect the patients’ outcome after liver transplantation.
