摘要

•We correlated the T cells of the cerebrospinal fluid with the brain inflammation.•Dogs with visceral leishmaniasis have similar amounts of T cells in blood and CSF.•This study provides evidence of breakdown of the brain barriers.•Double negative T cells may be contributing to brain inflammation in infected dogs.
