•IVIM-DWI and semi-quantitative DCE-MRI can provide promising way of differential diagnosis of indeterminate SPLs.•ADCtotal value can help to distinguish subgroup of lung cancer.•Combination of IVIM-DWI and semi--quantitative DCE-MRI can improve the diagnostic performance.•No obvious relationship between perfusion component of IVIM and DCE-MRI was observed.
