Dexras1 a unique ras-GTPase interacts with NMDA receptor activity and provides a novel dissociation between anxiety, working memory and sensory gating

•A deletion of Dexras1 coupled to NMDAR showed no impact on basal anxiety and depression-like levels.•NDMA receptor subunit2A expression was increased in Dexras1 knockout mice.•Dexras1 knockout mice only exhibited an increase in pre-pulse inhibition.
