Micron-scale disk resonators are explored to minituarize and enhance Ge-on-Si photodetectors. A 2.0 mu m-radius detector exhibits a dark current of 11 nA, a responsitivity of 0.5 A/W and a 3-dB bandwidth of 17 GHz at -1V bias.
