摘要
Aim: Platelet activation and aggregation are pivotal in the pathogenesis of an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Inhibition through antiplatelet treatment with aspirin is demonstrated to markedly reduce the risk of cardiovascular death especially in ACS patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). However, 0.4%-70.1% of patients demonstrate poor response to aspirin therapy (aspirin resistance, AR). Among others, genetic factors are thought to largely determine this response heterogeneity. Herein, we investigate the presence of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in genes influencing platelet activation/aggregation and their association with AR.
