Rule-based Context Modelling for Context-aware Services in Smart Phone Environments
Journal of KIISE:Software and Applications(2011)
摘要
In this paper, we propose a service model of context-awareness that is applicable to smart phones. The model can sense changes in a user's situation via the smart phone, and it changes its status automatically in order to minimize the cognitive load of the user. The sources for sensing the user's situation include GPS coordinates on the smart phone, time, and information input by users such as calendar data or contact lists. This context-awareness service model abstracts context by applying First-Order Predicate Logic(FOPC) to the given data source. Furthermore, it detects the current situation based on the user's input data then, it alters the source data according to the status of the smart phone and it alters the status. The contexts used in this model follow an intuitive language. For example, it abstracts He arrived early by using GPS coordinates, time, and schedules. Context-awareness infers user activities(e.g., meeting, class) on the basis of the abstracted context model. The validity of the model is experimentally confirmed by applying it to automated answering systems of telephones in various situations.
