摘要
Purpose Existing studies related to color had limitations in that they usually observed psychological changes as an abstract concept or used color stimulation as an additional factor. The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes in cognitive ability according to using color stimulation directly. Therefore, this study has examined the changes in cognitive ability in color environment according to preference using digitized data through the cognitive measurement test quantitatively. Methods The computerized neuro-cognitive function test, which was proven for its objective validity, was conducted as a measurement test to observe the changes in cognitive ability. As cognitive testing, Visual Span Test for measuring short-term memory ability and Wisconsin Card Sorting Test for evaluating thinking ability was conducted. Color stimulation was presented using LED in a soundproofed dark room to minimize external environmental factors other than the stimulation. The subjects selected preferred color or non-preferred color through a survey. The color stimulation of the selected color was randomly presented to the subjects. Results As a result of the measurement, a discovery has been made that there is a difference in the subject’s cognitive ability according to the preferred color stimulation and non-preferred color stimulation. Short-term memory and thinking ability was enhanced from non-preferred color stimulation. Conclusions This outcome implied that color stimulation has an influence on a human’s cognitive ability. Such further studies will be able to be utilized for the development of light care contents.
