Western Flower Thrips (WFT) are common pests and cause economic losses to ornamental growers by reducing the aesthetic value of plants by direct damage to the flowers and foliage. To reduce economic losses due to pests, WFT are controlled using insecticide applications. In this study, we address three objectives: 1) to determine the effect of several insecticides on WFT populations infesting potted greenhouse-grown marigolds: 2) to determine how an adjuvant affects WFT control by these insecticides; and 3) to determine how application rate and timing affect WFT control by the insecticides.
