Randomized safety and immunogenicity trial of a seasonal trivalent inactivated split virion influenza vaccine (IVACFLU-S) in healthy young Vietnamese adults.

•Increasing the world-wide capacity for manufacturing influenza vaccines is critical for appropriate preparedness.•IVAC, a Vietnam vaccine manufacturer, has developed a split, trivalent seasonal vaccine, that has proven to be safe and immunogenic in this study.•The immunogenicity of the vaccine is comparable to that of similar vaccines, and thus warrants further development.
