Su1306 The Use of a Stylet in Endoscopic Ultrasound With Fine Needle Aspiration: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

EUS-FNA is the most efficacious way to collect a specimen from a solid lesion adjacent to the GI tract. Most endoscopists perform EUS-FNA with an internal stylet during puncture, but reinserting the stylet into the needle is time-consuming. Controversy surrounds whether there is improvement in the quality of cytology specimen with stylet use. We performed a meta-analysis comparing the use of stylet versus no stylet with EUS-FNA of GI related masses regarding diagnostic adequacy, accuracy, and yield.
