Experiences with Posterior Calverial Distraction: A review of 50 cases

Introduction: The use of Posterior Calverial Distraction (PCD) for the management of craniosynostosis is well recognised. The advantages of using this technique include increased cranial volume, decreased intra-cranial pressure (ICP), relief of posterior fossa crowding, improved CSF circulation at the cranio-cervical junction and resolution of syrinx.
