•High power high reliability operation of the ECH DIII-D shot for a large number of plasma shots.•Newly installed 4-port rf monitors that can be used for calibration, polarization and mode content check, and monitoring of the reflected power from the tokamak.•Plans to increase installed power and to switch to a new operating frequency.
