Recovery of manool from evaporator condensate by induced air flotation in a kraft pulp mill based integrated biorefinery

•Manool recovery from a pulp mill condensate was studied as an example for integrated biorefinery.•The induced air flotation technology was followed for this purpose.•Manool recovery of ca. 70% was achieved after 7min aeration.•Glass microbeads were effective in preventing sticking during flotation.•Silicone defoamer (40ppm) mitigated excessive foaming in the flotation process.
