摘要
ABSTRACT A five-year-old male was admitted to the emergency department of the reference hospital with severe tachydyspnea and tachycardia, two hours after being stung by a scorpion. According to the radiographic findings, the patient was diagnosed with asymmetrical acute pulmonary edema (APE), which struck predominantly the right hemithorax. The treatment consisted of ventilatory support and intravenous administration of antiscorpion serum, furosemide and dobutamine. By the tenth day in hospital, the patient was discharged in good condition. This case report aims to emphasize the occurrence of asymmetric APE within the first few hours after scorpion poisoning.
