The potential impact of Brexit on the energy, water and food nexus in the UK: A fuzzy cognitive mapping approach

•Coupled cognitive model captures the complexity of the UK Energy-Water-Food Nexus.•GDP impacts on Energy Demand, whereas Water and Food depend on UK population size.•Less integrated Brexit scenarios have threefold larger magnitude of predicted changes.•Whilst dependant on choice of experts, the approach is attractive for Nexus mapping.
