Growth of antiperovskite oxide Ca3SnO films by pulsed laser deposition

•Antiperovskite oxide Ca3SnO films were synthesized from a sintered Ca3SnO pellet using the pulsed laser deposition technique.•The Ca3SnO films were epitaxially grown on YSZ substrates with the cube-on-cube orientation relationship.•The electronic structure of Ca3SnO films is qualitatively reproduced by first-principles calculations.
