Photochemical properties of a Re(I) polymer containing dppz in its structure. An interplay between dark and bright states of dppz

摘要
A new Re(I)-dppz polymer was studied. Multiple morphologies were observed by AFM and TEM in solvents of different polarity and solvent/acid mixtures. Several conformations were studied by TD-DFT. Excited states and their redox reactivity were studied by flash photolysis experiments and compared with pulse radiolysis thermal reactions. The photochemistry is rationalized in terms of 3IL(ππ*), 3MLCT(phz) and 3MLCT(phen) states.
