Manufacturing & characterization of regenerated cellulose/curcumin based sustainable composites fibers spun from environmentally benign solvents

•Curcumin/cellulose composite fibres were manufactured using wet spinning method.•The fibres showed high degree of alignment and good mechanical properties.•The fibres can be woven for use in bio-medical and food industry.
