The Recursive and Symmetrical Optoelectronic Network Architecture: Biswapped Network Hyper Hexa-Cell

In search for an efficient optoelectronic network, concentrating on mapping numerical problems that demands frequent routing and broadcasting (among diametrically opposite pairs of processors), a new variation of biswapped network named biswapped network hyper hexa-cell is introduced in this article. The performance evaluation of the proposed biswapped network hyper hexa-cell is on the basis of comparison made with OTIS hyper hexa-cell and biswapped network mesh. The comparative analysis presented in this paper validates the claim of the proposed biswapped network hyper hexa-cell to be more efficient and cost-effective incorporating essential and desirable network properties such as ‘higher bisection width,’ ‘smaller diameter,’ and ‘lower network’s total (electronic and optical) and optical cost’ in comparison to OTIS hyper hexa-cell network. Further, the biswapped network hyper hexa-cell may be regarded as an excellent alternative of existing variation of biswapped network framework named biswapped network mesh, as it imbibes the desirable properties of ‘smaller diameter’ and ‘higher minimum node degree.’
