The design and synthesis of a novel hybrid of interpenetrating cobalt and spinel cobalt oxide within single “Janus” nanoparticles stitched in porous graphitized shells is described in article number 1702900 by Zhengyu Bai, Weiguo Chu, Zhongwei Chen and co-workers. The defect-rich interpenetrating interfaces function as atomic traps that effectively catalyze bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysis for long-lasting rechargeable Zn-air batteries.
