Antifungal activity of hop extracts and compounds against the wheat pathogen Zymoseptoria tritici

•Searching for biofungicides to control Zymoseptoria tritici is challenging.•The antifungal activity of hop against this pathogen of wheat was evaluated.•Hops crude extract and essential oil significantly decreased fungal growth.•Co-humulone and desmethylxanthohumol are the most active compounds.•Association between hops essential oil and bixafen is additive to synergistic.
