The Power of Algorithms

The article offers an interpretative framework for the various meanings given to the attribution of a power to the algorithms that increasingly govern the organization of digital information. First, it highlights certain characteristics of algorithmic calculus by explaining how it works. It then proposes to disaggregate different types of implications regarding the criticism, audit and control of algorithms bearing in mind the diversity of mechanisms in which they are inserted.
