Background: Traditional manual compression (TMC) is the ‘gold-standard’ for femoral-artery haemostasis following sheath removal, but is labour-intensive and time-intensive. This institution has observed reduced time-to-haemostasis (TTH) with modified manual compression (MMC). The aim of this single-centre, randomised, pilot study was to compare the MMC technique with TMC.
