摘要
Aim: Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Lipid lowering medication including statins is crucial for patient outcome. Previous studies indicate that polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are known to reduce levels of triglycerides, and affect the composition of the LDL-particle. The effect of PUFAs in FH-patients is not well known. We investigated the effect of PUFAs on lipid levels and lipoprotein subfractions in FH patients on statins, plus ezetimibe if indicated.
