Design and analysis of a novel ICS solar water heater with CPC reflectors

•A new design of integrated collector storage (ICS) solar water heater is presented.•This new prototype is as small as possible size, low cost, easy to make and to install.•Optical analysis show that the acceptance angle is 40°.•Simulation of the system under Saharan climate in south Algeria is presented for an evaluation of thermal behaviour.
