Ultra-high heat flux dissipation with Piranha Pin Fins

摘要
•Flow boiling of HFE7000 in a new class of reactor-style heat sink is studied.•The heat sink builds on the Piranha Pin Fin microstructure developed by the authors.•Mass fluxes ranging from 680 to 3350 kg/s/m2 are used.•Heat fluxes exceeding 1000 W/cm2 are demonstrated.•Single and two-phase heat flow boiling heat transfer data is presented.•Results are compared to first generation PPF heat sinks.
