Long-term safety and efficacy following conversion to eslicarbazepine acetate monotherapy in adults with focal seizures.

•Long-term ESL for focal seizures in adults was effective and well tolerated.•Median time on ESL monotherapy was >5 years.•74% of patients were responders during 1 year of treatment with ESL monotherapy.•ESL was well tolerated as a monotherapy.•There were slight improvements in QoL and depressive symptoms with ESL monotherapy.
