Microstructure and Piezoelectric Properties of PMN-PNN-PZT Ceramics with the Variation of PMN

In this paper, in order to develop the composition ceramics with the high piezoelectric properties for ultrasonic transducer, Pb[(Mn 1/3 Nb 2/3 ) x (Ni 1/3 Nb 2/3 ) 0.10 (Zr 0.48 Ti 0.52 ) 0.90−x ]O 3 ceramics were fabricated with the variation of Pb(Mn 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 . The effects of Pb(Mn 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 (abbreviated as PMN) on their microstructure and piezoelectric properties were systematically investigated. The tetragonality was decreased in the ceramics with the increase of Pb(Mn 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 . When Pb(Mn 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 and sintering temperature were 8 mol%, 940 °C, respectively, the excellent physical properties of d 33 = 302 pC/N, ε r = 1390, k p = 0.542, Q m = 1378 were obtained in the specimens for ultrasonic transducer.
