摘要
AbstractProject Prometheus is a cooperative project involving IBM Canada, the University of Manitoba Faculty of Education, and classroom teachers from across the province of Manitoba. The major goal of the Project is to discover the most effective ways to use state-of-the-art information technology to promote mathematics and science literacy. In this article, we present a thematic analysis of teachers perceptions concerning the ways in which the technology affected their teaching styles and learning processes in the classroom. Teachers reported that the technology provided better learning conditions for students, especially in terms of increased responsibility for learning and more opportunities for collaborative work. They also described how participation in the project had changed their ideas about teaching and learning, and encouraged them to become facilitators-of-learning rather than providers-of-information.
