Endoscopic Versus Laparoscopic Gastrojejunal Revision as Therapeutic Options for Weight Regain after Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass

Background: Revisional surgery is rapidly growing within the field of bariatric surgery, increasing from 6% of all cases in 2013 to 13.9 % in 2016. Endoscopic gastrojejunal revision (EGJR) has been shown to be a safe, effective, and less invasive alternative to revisional surgery in addressing weight regain. However, there is limited data available comparing EGJR to similar laparoscopic techniques. We examine the effectiveness of EGJR and laparoscopic gastrojejunal revision for weight regain after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.
