Registration Of Soybean Germplasm Line Db0638-70 With High Yield Potential And Diverse Genetic Background
JOURNAL OF PLANT REGISTRATIONS(2019)
摘要
The release of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] germplasm line DB0638-70 (Reg. No. GP-416, PI 686969) is part of an effort to broaden the genetic base of soybean germplasm in North American soybean breeding programs. DB0638-70 was developed and released by the USDA-ARS, Stoneville, MS, as a conventional determinate maturity group IV high-yielding germplasm line. It is an F-5-derived line from the cross of USDA-ARS germplasm release DT98-9102 x Japanese cultivar Gogaku (PI 594172 A). DB0638-70 was tested for 3 yr in the United Soybean Board Southern Diversity Yield Trial Project over 14 trials across six locations, where DB0638-70 was not significantly different from commercial high-yielding checks 'AG 4632', 'AG 4703', and 'AG 4907' for yield in five of six locations. Over 19 trials in the USDA Uniform Soybean Tests, Southern States (Uniform Tests), DB0638-70 yielded 95 and 92% of the commercial high-yielding checks AG 4632 and 'AG 4933', respectively. DB0638-70 seed averaged 390 g kg(-1) protein and 231 g kg(-1) oil in the Uniform Tests. DB0638-70 is susceptible to southern stem canker, soybean cyst nematode, and reniform nematode. DB0638-70 was shown to be resistant to frogeye leaf spot. DB0638-70 can be used as a parent to improve yield and enhance genetic diversity.
