Dual-Wideband Semi-Circular Patch Antenna For Ku/K Band Applications

A compact dual wideband semi-circular shape micro-strip patch antenna is proposed for Ku/K band applications. The proposed antenna structure comprises of a modified T-shape slot on the patch. Simulated and measured bandwidths of 2.12 GHz and 1.92 GHz at lower frequency bands (16.60-18.72 GHz) and (16.78-18.70 GHz) respectively are reported. We observe simulated and measured bandwidths of 0.77 GHz and 0.81 GHz at higher frequency bands (22.66-23.43 GHz) and (22.56-23.37 GHz), respectively. Ringing resonating frequencies are observed at lower operating band and are responsible for gain degradation.
