摘要

This work explores the impacts of slot loading in a microstrip patch antenna from modal viewpoint. Slots are found to be effective in reducing nearest higher order modes. Closed-form expressions have been reported to account for the change in impedance properties. Further scopes of the present work have been highlighted from physical perspective.
