摘要

•Detoxification process with no carbohydrates degradation or losses.•S. stipitis and S. passalidarum were strongly inhibited by 1-Butanol.•Inhibitors extraction by methyl-isobutyl-ketone (MIBK) provided the best fermentation performance.•Evaporation followed by liquid-liquid extraction showed to be the most promising process.
