•The impact of sociodemographics on triarchic psychopathy is underdeveloped.•The current study examined the moderating role of sociodemographics.•Similar psychopathy-external criteria relations were found across race, SES, and gender.•Findings support the use of the triarchic psychopathy framework within diverse samples.
