Foraging behaviour of Weddell seals (Leptonychotes weddellii) in connection to oceanographic conditions in the southern Weddell Sea

•Six Weddell seals tagged with CTD satellite tags in the southern Weddell Sea.•Spatial segregation between seals tagged in pack ice and tagged on fast ice.•Pack ice seals foraged in MWDW inflows east and west of the Filchner Trough.•Fast ice seals utilized resources close to their colony.•Foraging behavior showed diurnal and seasonal variation, following prey distribution.
