Abstract
The following text is dedicated to the cardiovascular aspects of Turner syndrome from the perspective of the new guidelines of the International Turner Syndrome Consensus Group - "Clinical practice guidelines for the care of girls and women with Turner". The development of these guidelines was initiated by the European Society of Endocrinology and the Pediatric Endocrine Society in cooperation with the European Society for Pediatric Endocrinology, the Endocrine Society, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, the American Heart Association, the Society for Endocrinology and the European Society of Cardiology. The guidelines were formally approved by the European Society of Endocrinology, the Pediatric Endocrine Society, the European Society for Pediatric Endocrinology, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology and the Endocrine Society.(1) The strength of the guidelines is graded as follows: recommended (i.e., strong recommendation) and suggested (i.e., a less strong recommendation). In the case of guidelines, the level of clinical evidence is graded in 4 degrees *- very low, **- low, ***- moderate, **** very strong.
