Low Cost High Gain Patch Antenna with Probe Fed for UHF RFID Reader

This paper proposes low cost high gain patch antenna with probe fed for UHF RFID reader, it fabricated on inexpensive FR4 substrate. The RFID reader antenna 254 x 254 mm.

excels than -10 dB extensive the impedance bandwidth from 890 MHz - 975 MHz, as well as half power beam width about 60° cover the frequency range. From the measurement results, AR less than 3 dB has a bandwidth of 900 MHz - 920 MHz showed that the antenna has a satisfactory performance with the maximum realized gain about 9 dBi at 0 degrees. The proposed antenna is lightweight, low-cost and easy to fabricate, it is suitable for RFID system applications.
