Dimensions Of Social Cognition In The Schizophrenia Spectrum And Personality Disorders

Both schizophrenia (SCZ) and schizotypal personality disorder (SPD) are characterized by impaired social functioning. However, few studies have compared SCZ and SPD subjects on mentalizing (the ability to understand mental states of others), a social cognitive domain key for social functioning. We aim to characterize similarities and differences between schizophrenia and SPD subjects by comparing them to individuals with another personality disorder (borderline personality disorder, BPD) and healthy controls (HC) on a mentalizing task.
