摘要
In the United States, approximately 3000 patients are removed from the liver waiting list each year because they are unable to receive a liver transplant. Living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) has been shown to provide a survival advantage compared with remaining on the waiting list. In many parts of Asia, LDLT has settled as the dominant type of liver transplantation due to the scarcity of deceased donors. However LDLT constitutes only 4% of liver transplants in the United States, significantly revealing the potential for increased growth in living donation. This article is protected by copyright.
