Application and Experiments of 5G Technology Powered Industrial Internet

Wireless and wired communication technologies are widely used in vertical industry, especially manufactory industry. The communication technologies connect the field devices, computing resources and the enterprises management system together to provide intelligence for the manufactory industry. However, conventional wired and wireless communication solutions cannot meet requirements of current intelligent industry applications. Thus, in this paper, we introduce 5G to industrial Internet and propose a 5G based industrial Internet architecture to meet the requirements of ultra-low latency, massive connection and high reliability. Moreover, we introduce edge computing and cloud computing in this architecture to collect data and make decisions through artificial intelligence. Finally, based on the proposed architecture, we make a quality inspection experiment and show the high performance of the application.
