Malignancy rates of stereotactic biopsies of two or more distinct sites of suspicious calcifications in women without known breast cancer.

•Malignancy rate was 27.9% in women who underwent stereotactic guided biopsies of multiple separate suspicious calcifications in the same or both breasts.•When there were multiple distinct sites of similar-appearing suspicious calcifications, the calcifications were in the same pathology category in approximately 80% of patients•In women with two or more sites of suspicious calcifications, if the pathology result of the one site biopsy is benign, additional biopsy may perhaps still be necessary for the other sites
